iOS 27 preview and compatibility
The iOS 27 product preview describes a future Mahli Chito update. Its new Siri, Spotlight, and Weather appearance improvements are still in development and are not included in the current App Store download. No release date has been announced.
The current app requires iOS or iPadOS 26.4 or later, and the planned update keeps that minimum. New system integrations and Weather styling are designed for iOS 27 and iPadOS 27; some Siri experiences also depend on Apple’s supported devices, languages, regions, and rollout. The companion Watch app requires watchOS 26.4 or later.
Weather or location is missing
- Open iOS Settings, choose Privacy & Security, then Location Services, and confirm Mahli Chito has location access.
- You can also choose a U.S. location manually inside Mahli Chito.
- Check your connection and use the in-app refresh control if conditions appear stale.
Radar is not updating
- Check the freshness time shown in the app; radar scans can pause briefly at the source.
- Radar coverage is available across the contiguous United States. Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories are not currently included in the radar map.
- Use Refresh Radar if the displayed frame time remains behind after your connection recovers.
- Try Wi-Fi and cellular data to rule out a network-specific problem.
Rain coverage and totals
Forecast rain planning supports selected U.S. locations. Observed rainfall estimates depend on the source’s regional grid and available history, and may be unavailable or incomplete. Forecast amounts and observed totals are different products. Rain-accumulation notifications remain Oklahoma-only.
Notifications
Notification choices can be managed in Mahli Chito and in iOS Settings. Delivery can be affected by Focus, notification permissions, network availability, and Apple system services.
Subscriptions and ads
All functional weather features are available in the free app, which may show banner ads. An active ad-free subscription removes those placements. Apple manages purchases and subscription billing; use Restore Purchases inside the app after reinstalling or changing devices.
Weather safety
Weather information can be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. During dangerous conditions, always follow official National Weather Service warnings, local emergency management instructions, and trusted local broadcast guidance.
